In the heart of Alsace

A prefecture town with 65,000 inhabitants in the heart of Alsace, Colmar offers many different attractions. Ideally situated in the centre of Alsace, 45 minutes from Strasbourg (European capital), Basel ( Switzerland) and Freiburg ( Germany).

In Colmar itself, tour lovers will be delighted by the various museums (Musée Unterlinden, Musée Bartholdi, Musée du Jouet), and the old town architecture (Old Customs House, Pfister House, Cathedral, etc.). Walking enthusiasts will enjoy Petite Venise, a typical quarter with very well-preserved old Alsace homes, the yacht harbour and the pedestrianized old town with its many shops.

People who love shows and gatherings will be just as spoilt, as Colmar hosts a large number of events throughout the year: Colmar International Festival (early July), Wine Fair (August), Jazz Festival (September), Film Festival (October), Book Fair (November), Christmas Market (December), etc

Just outside Colmar, discover the surrounding Alsace countryside, its famous wine route with wine-tasting facilities, hiking in the Vosges foothills, and jaunts to neighbouring Switzerland and Germany.

Not forgetting one of the region’s key cultural attractions, namely gastronomy. There are numerous specialty dishes and local wines for visitors to enjoy. Colmar has many first class restaurants close to the Hotel Saint-Martin.

The hotel staff will advise you on restaurants and all the seasonal activities in Colmar and the surrounding area. The Colmar tourist office is also available to provide information.
